Beyoncé Breaks a Spotify Record with ‘COWBOY CARTER’ in One Day
Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER album was released on March 29th and it broke records the same day. Spotify announced that the country album became its most-streamed album in a single day in 2024 so far.
After being streamed more than 200 million times, albums single “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. Top 50 chart.
On March 19th Beyoncé wrote on Instagram, “This album has been over five years in the making. It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”
Earlier Friday, it was also announced that Cowboy Carter broke records on Amazon Music. This made it Beyoncé’s biggest album debut to date. The album earned more first-day streams on Amazon Music globally than any of her previous albums. It also marked the most first-day streams for a country album by a female artist in Amazon Music history.
COWBOY CARTER, the second portion of what we believe will be a trilogy from Beyoncé, features a 27-song tracklist, including collaborations with Tanner Adell, Rumi Carter, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Willie Nelson and more.
The album features the songs “16 CARRIAGES”, “PROTECTOR”, “BODYGUARD”, “JOLENE”, and more are available to stream across many music platforms.
