Omarion’s New Album ‘The Kinection’ Hits The Spot

Omarion returns with the release of his fifth solo album, The Kinection. The twelve-track album included appearances from Jamaican artist Busy Signal, Tallahassee trendsetter T-PainWale, and Ghostface Killah. This project features production and songwriting from 2x Grammy winner James Fauntleroy and Anderson Pakk, Knxwledge, and Smash David. The 34-minute collection includes a distinct body of work that dips into a variety of genres. Omarion paints his musical canvas with notes filled with knowledge, transformation, and self-reflection.

After his 2019 Millennium Tour, the former B2K member has plans to use The Kinection to serve as the soundtrack for a new five-part docuseries that is underway. After a six-year musical dry spell, Omarion fans across all ages, have something new to enjoy.

Opening the project with “Goddess,” featuring international artist Busy Signal, Omarion subtly sings about his metaphysical practice of manifestation and third-eye activation alongside an upbeat dance rhythm.

“Do You Well” serves up an R&B sound that features tones of fragrant bass drums. This song hints at the call-to-deliver intimate satisfaction one can find in the late-night hours, or more specifically, when all alone.

The project then winds down into a soulful, coffee-house atmosphere with "Mutual." This song is topped off with a feature from rap-poet master Wale.

The album strategically perfects a sequence of songs that vividly narrate recent chapters in Omarion’s life. Speaking on loss, bliss, and gratitude, the music is written like an explorative book.

"Involved" is a trap&b song that combines roaring bass and harmonious vocals. Perfect for those who want to unclench themselves from an old experience and redirect their energy into a new beginning. With subtle lyrics like

"Placing blame not at all

I'm good on everything I saw...

there's a blessing in these lessons."

Listeners can hear the development of maturity in Omarion's cadence.

His insight is found on tracks like “Unbothered,” and “U and I”. Throughout the music, the singer infuses his dance roots with the inclusion of “Can You Hear Me” featuring T- Pain.

Listeners can enjoy a rustic touch that appears on “No Complaints” through the use of acoustic guitar strings. This sound adds a layer of natural transparency to the lyrics, written by musical genius James Fauntleroy.

Ending the project on an even note with “I Ain't Even Done” featuring Ghostface Killah, Omarion caps his musical display by reflecting on his accomplishments as he prepares for his next adventure.

The 35-year old entertainer has used the recent chapters of his life to supercharge this body of work. The versatility heard throughout The Kinection is enough to ignite the interest of every lover of music. Omarion proves again that his artistry is here to stand the test of time. Omarion's new introspection is a delight to hear. Quenching the thirst of loyal fans, Omarion delivers with a multi-genre project filled with intricate sounds from all across the board.
