MORE WITH ZOORASS

What inspired you to create "Vibrator"?

“I wanted [to create] a track that is fun, energetic, and for the girls. I feel like I haven’t made a song like this in a very long time, so I wanted something every girl to dance to. My past favorite tracks that fans love such as “Pressure” and “Come Please” are simple but powerful, at the same time, it makes everybody want to dance. I just wanted to bring that aspect back into my music... I felt like this was such a great way to start the year.

Has your music creation process changed since 2021?

“It hasn’t changed a whole lot, to be honest. It’s kind of the same process as far as getting the beats together and seeing how I’ll attack the track. I think the only difference is now is that I’ll get a beat and play it and just off with humming different melodies and flows to capture what I want to create. Once I find something I want to go with I’ll add lyrics to it and go from there.”

How has your sound developed since your last release?

“I’m constantly working on my songwriting and trying out different things to take my sound to the next level. I think my sound will be slightly different because I’m dropping more singles this year as opposed to doing a project. When doing a project, you have to have strong singles to gravitate people towards your project but there is a difference between project cuts and singles cuts. [Releasing a project was the end goal for previous years.] Drop singles to pull people towards the project. This year I’m just sticking to singles... as opposed to project cuts. It’ll be somewhat of a challenge but fun at the same time. I’m 100% ready for it.”

Because this track has a fusion Soca/ EDM sound, who do you think will gravitate to it more upon its release?

“I’m not 100% sure which communities will gravitate towards it more but I know the Caribbean community for sure will embrace the track. It’s just full of vibes and such a great track overall... It’s simple but powerful. I think the EDM community will take a huge liking to the record as well.”

What are some things people can expect to see from you in 2022?

“You’ll see much more content overall coming from Zoo Rass. New music of course,[with] the content to back it up... I want to give people more of a behind-the-scenes look into my process as an artist and provide content that I might not be able to deliver to everyone in person. For example, I look forward to doing several in-studio performances [for those] unable to see me live[can still] see me perform their favorite tracks... I also plan to work with new artists and travel more to touch new markets and discover my supporters worldwide.”
