The Hassan Assassin Drops ‘Come Over’
'Come Over' is the latest track to make it out of the US Hip Hop underground scene. Taking the hot seat, The Hassan Assassin drops a banger, and I am finding it challenging to stay away.
It kicks off with a lead sample which reminds me of Kanye West. A steady beat then arises with a Caribbean sounding instrumental rhythm. 'Come Over' takes influence from the likes of Wiz Khalifa, but yet it does not sound like a replica. Also, it has a sound which brings plenty of new flavours to the party.
The verse sections demonstrate Hassan's ability to churn out a mesmerising rap. He sounds sharp, and he has an approach which many will struggle to find fault. But, the harmonies should make more of an appearance. Furthermore, I believe that a little more backing in places could have added even more wonder to its already colossal sound.
In the chorus sections, we hear the rapper hook us in with his smooth melody lines. He is singing about the good times, and the positive side of life, which is refreshing, especially when the world is currently full of doom and gloom. As a result, it has the power to take us away, and even if it's just for 3 minutes, it is well worth it.
Overall, I am relishing this new direction for The Hassan Assassin. He is not creating a prototype sound, and I doubt you will find it too dissimilar from other tracks in this genre. But, what he does do is provide a charismatic taste which is difficult to refuse. He sings with confidence, and his delivery is top draw. So wait no longer, you can listen to 'Come Over' by The Hassan Assassin below.
