Rocky Snyda Delivers Punchy “Supa Dupa Fly” Freestyle

Brooklyn, NY Artist, Host, and Event Coordinator Rocky Snyda gets into the nitty-gritty with her new freestyle “Supa Dupa Fly.”

This underground theatrical artist has drawn attention with her captivating performance and stage presence. Building local momentum within the NYC music scene, Rocky moves her audience with her climatic storytelling ability and eccentric style.

Igniting the screen with her animated expressions, Rocky Snyda brings her movie to life with her lyrical concert. With her neon color blocking, this artist enjoys the natural scenery of the wilderness as she dismantles the opinions of cynical doubters. Almost hitting the two-minute mark, Rocky snaps in and out with quick jabs and witty similes.

SheBuzzin catches up with Rocky to delve deeper into the behind-the-scenes magic of “Supa Dupa Freestyle.”

Q&A

What was your inspiration behind this freestyle?

I wrote this freestyle a while back in my very boom-bap days though it may not sound quite like that. I used to perform it around NYC, and it was always a surprising favorite. I mean, who can hate a Missy Cover?

What are some ways Missy Elliott influenced your artistry?

Missy’s creativity and team are next level. She was one of the blueprints to thinking outside the box in the mainstream realm. Her imagination is undeniable. I aspire to give birth to all of my ideas/worlds on screen and stage the way she fearlessly did.

What were some of our favorite things about creating this freestyle?

I guess my favorite thing was knowing that once this was out that this is going to start the season of me releasing my bag of tricks this year. And most importantly working with my FUTRxLGND partner Jayprob(Visual/Recording Artist), Visual Artist Aaron Wink, and Typographer Raissa Pardini on this cute visual. I just knew that whenever I did a freestyle, I wanted to do it a little differently.
