Ejay Mallard Finds Power in New Album ‘Healium’

Houston singer Ejay Mallord shares the release of his album Healium

The 15 track album features some of Ejay’s most intricate tracks. Two years after his first full-length project Traumatized, Ejay intentionally channels the Halloween spirit with the release of his dark, trauma-ridden R&B reminiscent of the trap-soul era as he reveals the strength needed to evolve oneself.

The album starts with “Nobody,” a track built by layers of Ejay’s voice, and features the kind of directness that wakes the listener up immediately. Songs like “Heartbreak Kid” and “Until Then/And Now,” featuring Houston rapper Guapo explore a vulnerable emotional spill surrounding love. This artist uses his musical expression in an unordinary way that is appreciated because of his authentic approach.

The music featured in the album covers multiple themes with its multidimensional sound. Ejay dives into his mental health through an upbeat collaboration with his engineer John Allen Stephens, “Red Balloons,” and again on a ballad as the album’s closer. Healium is a collection of various r&b tracks that caters to lovers.
